About Beede Outdoors

A Family-Owned Nebraska Hunting Experience

Beede Outdoors isn’t just a hunting club — it’s a passion project built from decades of field experience, conservation knowledge, and family tradition. Located in Syracuse, Nebraska, and serving hunters from across the Midwest, our mission is simple: to create exceptional upland bird hunting experiences rooted in integrity, hospitality, and stewardship of the land.

Founded in 2014 by Matt Beede, our operation has grown from a personal love of the outdoors into a thriving hunting destination known for its experienced guides, quality birds, and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're joining us for your first pheasant hunt or your fiftieth, Beede Outdoors feels like home.

A Tradition Built on Relationships

Many of our clients return year after year — not just for the birds, but for the friendships. We don’t see our guests as transactions. We see them as part of the Beede Outdoors family. From the moment you arrive at the lodge to the time you pack up your gear, you’ll be treated with respect, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.

Whether you’re a beginner learning to shoot, a father passing down tradition, or a company planning an unforgettable team outing, we’re here to help you make it happen.

Meet the Founder: Matt Beede

Matt Beede has been hunting since he could walk. Raised on the traditions of Nebraska hunting by his father, Bill, Matt grew up chasing everything from small game to big game across the Midwest. That early exposure became a lifelong calling.

While in high school and college, Matt worked at Lincoln Trap and Skeet, eventually becoming an assistant manager. His love for the outdoors led him to pursue a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. During that time, Matt also traveled to Namibia, Africa, where he spent six weeks shadowing professional hunters and learning land conservation strategies and international game management.

Matt founded Beede Outdoors in 2014 with a clear mission: to provide a place where people of all ages and skill levels can enjoy ethical, memorable hunting experiences. Today, he shares that journey with his wife Kristin and their two young daughters, Emma and Nora, who can often be found at the lodge helping care for the birds. Together, the Beede family welcomes you to their land and their legacy.

Our Guiding Team

Our guides are the heart of Beede Outdoors. Each brings a unique background, years of experience, and a deep respect for upland bird hunting. They aren’t just guides — they’re educators, conservationists, dog lovers, and lifelong hunters.

Brian Zahn

George Formanack

George is a retired professional who now spends his time doing what he’s loved since childhood — upland bird hunting. He began chasing quail and pheasant in the 1960s and has trained dogs for over 40 years. Today, he runs two German Shorthairs — Josie, a Master Hunter, and Coco, a Senior Hunter. George’s calm presence and seasoned expertise make him a favorite among returning clients.

Lukas Mroz

He’s passionate about the moment a dog goes on point and a young hunter experiences their first successful flush. Lukas runs three dogs: Rozy, an Epagneul Breton, and two American Brittanys — Slick and Lucy.
